My first solo exhibition - Out of Place
On from 24th September until the 20th November at the customs house in South Shields.

I'll be showing a selection of my street portraits and some of my urban landscapes (see the "places" section in the gallery).

I'm really excited about showing this work in public. People have seen it on my social media but this is the first time a lot of people have seen it in the flesh. I'm looking forward to hearing what people think of the work. The urban landscapes I've been making for a while now, and really enjoy painting them. I love finding the forgotten spots and places passed by and never contemplated and capturing that time and space in the amber of acrylic paint!

I'm especially keen to hear what folks have to say about my street portraits. I started making these figure studies in 2019 and was immediately hooked. I love to paint people, whether that's a formal portrait or a more candid composition like these street portraits.
