My submission for the Scottish Portrait Awards was long-listed! which means I am part of their online exhibition ( you can find it here )

I've applied for a few of these types of open calls before and got nowhere, so I was really pleased to be included in the long-list. There are some great pieces on the website and you can also see the shortlist, who have a physical exhibition touring Scotland soon.

The portrait shows two of my oldest friends, Grant and Andrew, while we waiting to be fitted for suits for our friend Nick's wedding. I painted it on a slightly larger scale than normal (51x41cm, normally a4) and on canvass rather than card. I was pleased with how it turned out.

Now I'm trying to thing of something to submit next time!
